Organizers announced the judges for the 2012 89er Day Parade, scheduled for Saturday, April 21. This year’s theme is “Back in the Saddle… Again.”
Organizers selected W. E. Duff, Linda Holt, Gary Hardwick, Bob Rice, Anthony Wuestenfeld, Meghan McCormick, Brad Benson, and Joe Antinoro to judge the 2012 89er Day Parade.
There are 10 divisions upon which entries will be judged: Floats, Round-Up Club, Music & Dance Groups, Auto, Trucks, Other Vehicles, Miscellaneous Children, Miscellaneous Adult, Equestrian and Other Animal.
The parade, commemorating the day in 1889 that Oklahoma was opened for settlement, will begin 10 a.m. on Main Street and Pickard, ending at Main Street and Crawford Avenue.
This years parade will include entries such as the United States Marshal Posse with 12 horsemen and an original jail wagon! Other entries include marching bands from Blanchard, Lexington and Noble schools, and the Oklahoma Scottish Pipes and Drums, the most attractive pipe band in Oklahoma.
